Maybe you dont feel like you need individual parenting support but you’d like to learn some new tools for your toolbox or meet other parents who are trying to learn new things. Participating in a parenting class is a great option!
I offer parenting classes based on two evidence-based models:
Triple P (Positive Parenting Program): these are two-hour small group sessions, targeting a specific problem behavior or issue. There are four topics for parents of children 0 –12: Dealing with disobedience; Managing fighting and aggression; Developing good bedtime routines; and Hassle-free shopping with children.
PMTO (Parent Management Training Program-Oregon Model): these classes called "Parenting Through Change" occur weekly over the course of 12 weeks, each class being 90 minutes in length. Classes, for parents of children 2-17, are agenda-driven, responsive and focus on skill building. PMTO skills include: Encouraging Positive Behavior, Family Problem Solving, Positive Involvement, Limit Setting, Monitoring, Effective Communication, Emotion Regulation, Clear Directions, School Success, and Mindfulness.
Classes are available by demand. Get your parent friends together and support one another in learning and growing your parenting skills!
